I can't tell you how many times we walk into a client's house and end up suggesting / correcting their curtain layout. The placement of curtains can make a huge impact in the way a room looks. It can shrink the window or make the window and room feel larger than it really is.
As you can see in the image above both windows are the same size and shape but the curtain placement on the right makes the window appear so much larger and allows more light to enter the room.
Here is the main problem.... Typical curtain lengths are 84' and 96'. We have found that sometimes we need a curtain length that is longer than 84' but shorter than 96'! Ahhhh! Here is what we normally recommend to clients. First, you can add curtain clips. These are our favorite curtain rod clips from Amazon. The clips add a fun detail and add length to the overall curtain. Second, you can always get your curtains tailored to fit your space. Either way your curtain should graze the floor.
